Let’s do lunch. A group of us are meeting at noon today the Tavern on Mill. All the details can be found at www.TempeNerds.com. This will be the second techie lunch like this that we’ve done. We had about 25 people at the first one (pics here) and this one should be even better. The goal is to get more connected locally and be aware of what others are working on so we can help share advice, make introductions, etc to elevate the scene. We also have two local technology reporters who will be there today so a nice byproduct of coming will be the opportunity to get in front of people who can potentially write a story on what you’re doing. Email me if you have questions and RSVP on the site so we have an accurate head count.

  1. “two local technology reporters” what? where? who?

Can we not get a Flickr group for all the photos? Let me know.

Andrew Johnson of AZ Republic and Ty Young of AZ Tech News both told me they were coming- not sure what happened to them.

Go for it if you want to setup a Flickr group- i figured it’d just be easier to use the Meetup photo functionality so I’ve switched the links to point there and posted photos from the last 2 lunches-> http://newtech.meetup.com/109/photos/

good seeing you today. I’m definitely interested in hearing about what you think of Magento if you use it on a future project.

Hi Sean, I saw on another site something you’d posted about closed captioning for the movie Charlie Wilson’s War. You or someone else wrote “I watched this movie with my folks and…” – and thought “wow – this is just too coincidental!” I am hearing impaired and without closed captioning I don’t even attempt to watch a movie because I miss too much and feel very frustrated. I sat down to watch this movie with MY parents yesterday and after several failed attempts to get closed captioning – I gave up and left (within first 10 minutes of movie). Is it closed captioned – in ENGLISH? I’m confused and wondered if you might be able to enlighten me. Please send email to kazan1962@msn.com. Thanks so much!!

  4. Sounds like fun. It looks like I missed it. When is the next get together?
